Kade and I had a little business to take care of. After that, we walked through a local community far from tourists.
Bananas!
Shophouse for sale!
We stumbled upon a fun bakery. I can't recall trying anything, but I sure did like seeing all the black bears. I showed the lady working there some photos of Asheville's bears!
Kade took me by Bang Khun Si Market, a place she liked when she was growing up. The durian stand caught my eye!
We enjoyed a second pack! A few older ladies were looking at me as I devoured the durian.
This guy was opening and packaging smaller portions of Monthong durian. Towards the end of our stay in Bangkok, we returned and selected (with his help) a durian to open. Now that was an even better experience! Malaysia, Thailand's southern neighbor, spoiled me when it comes to how durian should really be eaten and enjoyed.
