I had checked out this small rooftop bar before. This time I needed to return for a drink. I ended up moving inside by the bar. Although this is a 5-star hotel, there's not much to the rooftop experience. I do recommend, however, walking that entire road and checking out at least the lobbies of these luxury hotels. A couple of them have quite a bit of history in Thailand.
While I was enjoying my mocktail, I was able to look back in the direction of the Waldorf Astoria and St. Regis - way in the distance. I cover a lot of ground when I'm in Krungthep (Bangkok).
After my drink, I headed back towards Gaysorn Plaza (part of Gaysorn Village) and Sukhumvit Rd.
I saw these beautiful lions in Gaysorn Plaza, then exited to go to a newly renovated high-end mall: Gaysorn Amarin. There's a lot of money floating around the "City of Angels."
I stopped by Central Embassy to find out more about Park Hyatt's rooftop bar. I will return.
I took the BTS to Phrom Phrong station, then walked to The Laughing Tiger to give it a try.
Pretty good Pad Thai! I had been wanting to go this restaurant. Get there early for a booth, which would be more comfortable.
I made a comment on his video! He shows The Laughing Tiger.
This is another I wanted to return to. In this case, I wanted to make a video. It's worth going up there when there's still some sunlight. If you're able, combine this one with Char (Hotel Indigo) on the same day. You'll be very impressed. Drinks are better at Up & Above, though.
From Up & Above, I could look out and see One City Centre, home if Akara Sky Hanuman Rooftop Bar. It's the newest one in town. I was on my way there next.
At the very bottom of the photo is the Nai Lert mansion. It has a green roof. Lert was a very successful businessman and real estate developer who owned a lot of the property in the area around One City Centre. And probably OCC's land was once his. You can read about Nai Lert here.
Not the best cocktail I've had. I would stick to classics, something straight up or even better, beer.
When I left Hanuman Rooftop Bar, back on the street I looked over at Up & Above, where I was earlier. It's kind of a thrill to see where I've been.
