Friend: Great city. Always something to do! (and eat)
Me: You really get now how it's possible to be in Bangkok near something or some building you'd turn your nose up at here, yet at the same moment be involved in an activity or experience that you just can't really find at that level here. Traveling is an education. Perspective changes. From a beauty standpoint, Bangkok is not overall attractive. Far from it. However, the certain things that are beautiful are unbelievably so. And then there's the energy and excitement in the air. Makes a difference.
