We started out the day by going to the Tesco-Lotus near Kade's house. It's where we had lunch.
Portuguese custard tarts available at KFC!
pork w/ basil
gravy noodles w/ pork
This Japanese ramen chain is still going strong.
We bought a few of these sweet waffles.
From the MRT platform. See the buffalo?
Our destination: King Power Mahanakhon.
There are tea, juice, coffee and fruit shake shops and kiosks all over the city. And the variety of flavors and options is astounding.
Yes, the same Sizzler that used to be big in the States.
We went up there, all the way to the top.
This is the level just below the top floor. See my reflection?!
What a map! A map of Bangkok - probably all that's seen from the 360 rooftop - is etched into the floor.
We went on up to the rooftop about 4:10 PM to take a few photos and to look around. We only lasted about 15 minutes! It was way too hot and the sun was too bright for quality photos, although the top two images are really nice. To escape the heat, we went back downstairs and waited about another hour before going back up. That's what I'd advise you to do. Get to Mahanakhon early enough so that you're ahead of the crowd. Buy your ticket when you arrive, take the elevator up, and get to the rooftop for a look-see. After that, get back inside, sit and relax. Then maybe around 6 PM, go back to the rooftop. Once we did, we ordered drinks and took a lot of photos. Take a sun hat, shades and some sunscreen.
"The Purple One"
Is that a black bear cub?!?!
Lots of tourists: Brits, Russians, Germans, Indians, Japanese, Scandinavians, etc..
