street food (at a food court) + massage + rooftop bar + Japanese dinner + go-go bar
Khao Kha Moo sai Kai
(slow-braised pork leg w/ egg)
Shaved Ice Dessert
I think this is the lobby of the Radisson Blu Plaza Bangkok. Just went in to look around.
Didn't try this rooftop bar. May next time.
Love this Japanese pastry shop. They have been here since 1970. They have a wide selection of sandwiches of the types i want to try next visit to Japan. They also, as you can tell by the name, serve egg custard. It's a busy shop, with everybody wearing masks. There were some lovely japanese housewives in there - even with masks on.
in the lobby of a place where I got a massage
Vanilla Sky, here we come!
Thing?!
(Addams Family)
Negroni
This was next door to Vanilla Sky. Highly recommend it! Ask for waitress Tomoko.
Japanese Beer
Pork Cutlet with Curry & Rice
Tuna Maki
Seafood & Veggie Tempura
California Maki
The California Maki was so good. Even in my mouth, without having chewed it, it was heavenly. Perfect rice, fresh ingredients. And that curry?! I have had Japanese curry of this fashion before, but I really savored it this time.
This meal was very delicious. It clearly confirmed how below-average Japanese food is in my US city. If you want the best of something, go to the source or get very close to it. Bangkok has very large Japanese expat community, and they desire what they can get back home.
After dinner, it was time for Soi Cowboy.
