Sukhumvit Soi 16

I stopped off at Nana Hotel on Soi 4, thinking I would meet my friend in the lobby restaurant.  The whole place seemed a bit dull, though, and I don't even think the restaurant was open.  Anyway, I drank some water, did some people watching and then moved along.  I actually ended up meeting my friend at an Irish pub (The Blarney Stone) just down the soi.  While waiting for him to arrive, I ate some Thai food.  Yes, Thai food at an Irish pub!

After catching up with my friend, I left for a couple of rooftop bars on Sukhumvit Soi 16.

That's a real drink right there: an Old-Fashioned.

If calamari is on a menu, I'm ordering it.

My experience at Aesop's was pretty amazing.  The calamari was delicious, the drinks outstanding and the views very unique.  In the future, I will return for a full meal.

Clover Sky Bar & Restaurant was cute.  The bar side was small.  The mocktails were pretty good.  I liked the whimsical decor.  It's not anywhere near my top forty list, but if you're an expat or staying along Sukhumvit for an extended period, it might be worth checking out.  You can certainly get an idea of how busy Asoke intersection is!

That's a French family in front of me.  Over to my left was young Thai lady.  We talked a while.
