Thai rums and brandy to take home
Kade was the one who rounded all this up, by the way. Two bottles were gifts for her friends!
On the way to get lunch we spotted the Mahanakhon high-rise. Hard to believe that just a couple of weeks ago we were on the very top of it, sipping drinks and awaiting the sunset with a big crowd of people.
The new MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) lines and platforms have opened up the city even more. That's the enormous Buddha at Wat Paknam. I highly recommend a visit to that temple.

Here's another capture from an MRT platform. Bangkok is not what I call a beautiful city, but still you can find plenty of enchanting views.
This was our last purchase of Monthong durian on this trip. It was going to keep us happy until departure. I can't say enough about durian. I'm in love!!
The food stall where we had lunch is this one. Gary's Roaming Cook channel is one I've followed for well over a year. I'd say there were a handful of Thai vloggers that I watched very often for ideas. On my blog I will end sharing videos from all those channels - and list them out. Several months ago, after watching this video I said we needed to go there. The food was very good. I wouldn't say great. However, if you lived near the food truck, it's perfect for takeaway. We had to sit on little plastic stools in the hot sun, which, although not pleasant, added to the authenticity. I still say, if you desire the best of Thai street food, go first to the mall food courts. You might pay a bit more, but it's cleaner and more comfortable. And they have everything!
