Anytime you travel, especially when going solo or when younger, perhaps you're going to overlook some things. Tours are a big advantage sometimes. I will keep adding to this list, and making some notes. I can imagine having a chance to redeem myself with a few of these places (for ex, Asian ones), but most of them will forever be missed opportunities.
Lenin Mausoleum - Saw it, but did not go inside. The last time because there was a line a mile-long.
Taj Mahal - Had a real opportunity to get there. I waited till my last day. Was exhausted, and was a bit wary of my guide and the van he wanted to take me in. Ironically, I left thinking, "Oh, I can always do it again."
Mahatma Gandhi Assassination Site and Place of Cremation - I didn't really inquire. I don't know why.
Catherine Palace - Didn't know the significance of this palace, and we had already seen a few.
Mozart Birthplace & Various Landmarks
Train from Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) to Hanoi
Vietnamese Beaches
Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum - Saw it. I think it was closed.
Krakow
Auschwitz
Day Tour of Helsinki
Old Jewish Ghetto of Warsaw
Krabi and Phi Phi Islands (Island Hopping) - Should have done this in 2000, when the movie The Beach came out. I was focusing only on the Gulf of Thailand side.
Malaysia's Cameron Highlands
Java
Day Tours of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania
Tolstoy's Summer Estate
Rasputin Tour in Yusupov Palace - We were in a hurry. Toured the palace, but did not do visit the basement where Rasputin was poisoned.
Vancouver, BC
