Migrants in Russia

Migrant workers follow a police officer during a raid by Russian immigration authorities at a construction site in Moscow, in 2012.

In Thailand, too, there's a similar situation.  People coming in for work on vast construction projects and other work.  Myanmar, Laos, India, Cambodia....some documented, some not.  But there's work, and they do it well, for a lower wage.  In Bangkok, there were even Western workers teaching English as a Second language who were falsifying documents to get work visas to stay there.  Buying fake diplomas and everything.  Oh, and "Uzbek" girls in prostitution all over Thailand.....but mainly Bangkok.  Of Russian and Ukrainian ethnicity mostly.   The newspaper always wrote it up as Uzbek girls, but I knew better!!!!  :-)  lol  And legit models in Bangkok from Russia....long legs, angelic faces....walking down catwalks and headlining fashion shows with gals from Thailand and all over.

On the plus side, I will say that some of the best cuisine I had in Moscow was at two Uzbek restaurants - nice chain restaurants.  Shashlik, pilaf and other goodness!

  1. There are nationalist groups in Russia, but they are under restriction and prosecution of state . I haven't experienced this on myself.

Towards the Uzbeks and Tajiks in Russia there is peculiar attitude . They come here to earn money and send them back to their families. They are low payed . Russians will not work for such money. They do all the hard and dirty work . People here understood that . So attitude towards them is relatively quiet. But most russians consider them below themselves , sort of inferior
