Time 2 C Kade

After an action-packed ten days in Bangkok followed by a pretty busy eight days in Chiang Mai, my cousin and I flew back to the Thai capital.  My plan was to hang out with my wife Kade for several days while he did his own thing.  We were at the halfway point of our adventure!

I am very impressed with Bangkok's airports and the mass rail system (SRT, BTS, MRT).

For years, Starbucks was my go-to coffee chain in Bangkok.  There are probably well over 200 Starbucks shops just in Bangkok and over 400 throughout Thailand.  I read that by 2030 there will be 800 nationwide!

Bangkok supermarkets and malls can be great places to find quality durian.

We drove out to the bus station to inquire about tickets for my upcoming trip south.

I had been researching this popular Tokyo-based conveyor belt sushi chain that's now in Bangkok.  One just happened to be in Central Pinklao mall.  We tried it and thought it was pretty good.

Major Cineplex is the largest operator of movie cinemas in Thailand.  I always like to joke with Kade and tell her it was my startup.

Durian ice cream, and maybe Mango

Durian Monthong Sundae

This is a US chain I had not heard of prior to traveling to Bangkok many years ago.

They even had durian ice cream cakes!

Dunkin' Donuts even offers durian-flavored treats.  I passed!

We ate a delicious lunch at Noodles & More.  I bet they had 50+ types of noodle dishes!

King Rama IX

Can you imagine living here?

All I can say is that if you want to stay in Thailand more than the initial 30 days that's already granted on a US passport, research ahead to learn how to do it the proper way.  You can extend your visia another month without having to exit the country.  We did that at the immigration department at this huge government complex.  It's not very expensive, but it does take up a few hours.  Luckily while you're waiting, there's plenty of food to enjoy.  Thais are smart when it comes to food options!

Another flavorful meal!

We then went to a sweet shop and got a lychee roll cake with ice cream.  Bangkok has so much to offer!
