One Night In Bangkok

The plan was to hit one or maybe two rooftop bars.  After exiting at Ploenchit BTS Station, I started walking down Wittayu Rd.

I stopped to admire the Okura Prestige Bangkok.  Didn't know it at the time, but I'd have a drink right up the there before the night was over.

That half-moon terrace is Up & Above Rooftop Bar.

This shrine is on the grounds of The Okura Prestige Bangkok.

This shrine is next door at The Athenee Hotel.

I kept walking.  Had to reach Hotel Indigo by 5 PM.

Hotel Indigo's Spirit House

I took a seat in the lobby while waiting for my Atlanta friend to arrive.  She misjudged how big Bangkok is and couldn't quite figure out the BTS system.   It can be overwhelming, and it was really just her second full day.   Eventually, after I had already gone on up, she came strolling in after a confusing, long walk.  It happens!  The views, the drinks and the conversation soon turned everything into a positive.  What a city!

The third building from the left is Kimpton Maa-Lai.  That's where I am going to Bar.Yard rooftop bar.

Straight ahead, with that black top floor, is Sindhorn Midtown hotel.  That floor is Anju Korean Rooftop.  Definitely going there!  Also in that cluster of buildings, just to the left of Sindhorn Midtown, is Hotel Muse.  It's home to The Speakeasy Rooftop Bar, which I've also been considering.  Let's see how the trip unfolds.

I can't recall if that was a mocktail or cocktail.

We waited till after the sun set, then walked down to Okura Prestige Bangkok.

We were at Up & Above Rooftop Bar.  That's Central Embassy.

This fruit mocktail was probably the best I had the entire trip.

Maybe the best hotel Christmas tree I saw in Bangkok.

After our lovely evening, I escorted my friend back to her gorgeous hotel.
