I took a Grab down to Charoenkrung Road to meet a friend at MaLet's Cafe and Coffee Roastery. We were planning to go on a walk.
I got there a bit early, so I decided to walk a little of Charoenkrung Rd.
I dropped by Attitude Fusion Tapas and Rooftop Bar to scout it out. Loved this David Bowie portrait! I was impressed with what I saw of the rooftop bar, so the plan is definitely to return.
Made it back to Cafe MaLet.
Once my friend arrived, we started our walk. The route was the sections of Surawong and Silom Rds close to the river.
We made it to Jack's Bar for some views of the river and refreshing drinks.

When we were done, we walked a bit up the road to the Shangri-La Bangkok, one of the city's most famous hotels.
There were beautiful portraits of Queen Sirikit all over the city. I think it was for her birthday.
I bought a small version of the Durian Elephant.
After we finished our walk, my friend went his way and I went mine. I decided to hang out more on Charoenkrung Rd.
Wat Yannawa from the BTS platform
As I walked down Charoenkrung, I spotted a rooftop bar that I intended to see. That would be my evening plan!
I made it back to the Shangri-La Bangkok. After going out by the river to look around, it was time for a late lunch at one of the hotel's restaurants.
Refreshing!
This Tom Kai Gai (coconut soup with chicken) was delicious. The setting was fabulous, and the service was what you'd expect at a 5-star hotel.
That's Basque cheesecake, which seemed to be on the menu at most of the finer pastry shops in town. This slice was exceptional!
After lunch, I walked back to the gift shop to pick up the Durian Elephant they were holding for me.
State Tower
I had some time to kill before the rooftop bar opened. I decided to get a 90-minute oil massage.
Even in the massage shops, you'll see portraits of kings and spirit houses. It's all fascinating to me.
This is where I went. Up and down the road, there were many places for massages of all types. You just have to shop around.
Rama V
This was not one of the fancy rooftop bars, but it was a great experience. The food was tasty and the views were unique.
Now it was time to walk back down the stairs.
I reached the BTS. From the platform, I could look back and see Palate Rooftop Bar, where I just was.
I went a stop or two to Mode Sathorn Hotel Bangkok. Another rooftop bar was waiting.
There's the hotel.
Lovely Queen Sirikit!
My mocktail was very good.
