Or Tor Kor Market

If you're desiring to visit a nice, clean market in Bangkok, it's hard to beat Or Tor Kor.  It's a place I've been several times.  You can schedule your visits around meals.  You can snack on anything or order dishes at the food court or food stalls.  There's something for everyone.

The real reason I wanted to take my cousin out there was so he could try fresh durian for the first time.  Or Tor Kor, when it's durian season, has a fantastic selection.  It can be opened in front you or it can already be package.  It's a little more expensive there, but the quality is excellent.  And another added benefit is that you can sit at a table and eat it.  So, if you're a tourist or just starting to live in Bangkok, head out to Or Tor Kor for a delicious lunch and some top-notch durian.

That's chicken with bamboo shoots, Chinese sausage and something else.  It may not look great, but the flavors are amazing.

This is just one of the durian vendors.  Take your time, and go for it!

We took the BTS, then switched to the MRT for one stop to reach Or Tor Kor.

For the day, which might have included a bit more than just the market, we walked 3.3 miles.
