Koh Chang, Thailand

This is a photo I took on Koh Chang.  Koh means island. Chang is Thai for elephant.  Koh Chang is  Elephant Island, and got that name because of the elephant shape of its headland.  Koh Chang is the largest island of a 52 island marine park about four hours east and a 45 minute ferry ride from Bangkok.  Here's an easy-to-read map.  I visited this island with Kade and a couple of our friends, Darcy and Liz from Canada.  This was in 2002.  On that trip I took the above photo of the Klong Plu Waterfall with a standard 35 mm camera.  After riding our motorbikes about 30 minutes from the beach where we were staying, we walked about 400 yards through a durian orchard and lush vegetation and up some hilly trails until we reached this spectacular site.  We stayed on Klong Prao Beach.

Our bungalow:  Chai Chet.

This is the beach where we stayed.

Here's an aerial view of the bungalows at Chai Chet Resort (on the Chai Chet Cape).  Looks like the bungalows have been completed updated.
