Rooftop Bars in Bangkok

When in Bangkok, one of my favorite spots is the Sirocco Bar at the State Tower.  It offers arguably the best views of the city.  The panorama at sunset is breath-taking.  Interestingly enough, in the new movie The Hangover Part II, this rooftop bar and the Lebua Hotel at State Tower play a big role.

My wife treated me to a birthday dinner at State Tower in 2005.  Before getting our table, we first had drinks at Distil Bar, which is a nice place to hang out.  If you like amazing cocktails, with incredible views to match, Distil Bar is the place.  And this bar is on the same floor as Sirocco Bar.  For people having dinner and desiring drinks at Sirocco Bar, they usually stop off at Distil Bar first, especially if they arrive early.

 

Later that same year, a couple of Kade's friends helped me surprise her on her birthday.  I arranged a romantic evening at another rooftop bar - Vertigo and Moon Bar at the Banyan Tree Hotel.

And in 2011, friends Nok and Bow invited us to Siam@Siam Design Hotel and Spa for drinks and dessert at a fabulous outdoor, rooftop setting.
