Sanook

One thing I discovered very quickly about Bangkok is that there are lots of gigantic shopping malls with every international brand you can imagine. If you are an American and you are used to shopping at say, Phipps Plaza in Atlanta, you will find Bangkok to be right up your alley. It's safe to say that Thais love to shop and they love to hang out in malls with their friends. Sound familiar?!? Below, in the yellow dress is Bua. Bua's older sister (not pictured) was a student at the school where I taught in Bangkok. I was later introduced to Bua and ended up having some one-on-one English sessions with her. She's very bright. Bua has worked for a law firm. She enjoys cooking, and she has studied in England. These days Bua is living in her home city, Bangkok, and is doing what Thais do well: having plenty of sanook sanook (fun, fun!)
